Signing in without a password

Updated on 2026-09-04

There is no password. Your client signs in with a link and a code they receive by email.

The three steps

  1. Sign inEnter your email address. We send you a sign-in link — no password to remember. Field Email address, checkbox Stay signed in on this device, button Send me a link.
  2. Check your inboxWe sent a link and a code to {address}. The link stays valid for 15 minutes. Field Code from the email, the same checkbox, button Sign in.
  3. If they click the link in the email, they are straight in.

The email is called Your sign-in code for {salon} and carries a Sign in button.

Two entrances, one sign-in

Your client can sign in here, and also right at the top of the booking page — that page opens with the question Have you been here before? It is the same sign-in: the same code, the same email, the same validity. Someone who signs in from the booking page returns to their booking after the code, not to the portal.

Stay signed in, or not

The checkbox Stay signed in on this device is on by default, with underneath: Switch this off on a device you share: your session then ends as soon as you close the browser.

  • On — the browser keeps the session for thirty days.
  • Off — it disappears as soon as the browser closes.

In both cases the sign-in itself stays valid for thirty days; the checkbox only decides how long the browser remembers it. It appears on all three sign-in screens — including the code screen, because someone who clicks the link in the email never sees the first one.

Signing out

Signing out is done with the Sign out button at the top of the portal, and with the same button next to Welcome back on the booking page. One click, and everything of theirs in that browser is gone: their sign-in and the booking they may have left half-finished. That is there for the shared device — the iPad at your counter, the laptop at home.

A client can be signed in on several devices at once; signing out on one leaves the other in place.

How it is secured

  • The code is six digits and valid for 15 minutes.
  • A new request makes the previous code invalid.
  • There are at most five attempts per code.
  • Per address and per salon, at most three codes can go out per quarter of an hour.
  • The answer is always the same, whether the address exists or not. That way nobody can work out through this screen who your clients are.

Messages your client may read:

  • Your session has expired. Sign in again.
  • Too many attempts. Wait a moment and try again.

What you have to do yourself

Nothing, other than making sure there is a valid email address on the client record. If you want the button in the emails to point at your own domain, fill in Eigen adres van het klantenportaal (custom address for the customer portal) under Instellingen → E-mail.

Frequently asked questions

A client says they are not getting a code. Check whether there is an email address on their record, and whether Mails versturen (send emails) is switched on under Instellingen → E-mail.

Can I open a client's portal myself? No. The portal belongs to the client. What you need is on their record under Klanten (clients).
