Brands and logos
Updated on 2026-08-22
Brands group the products in the stock list and on the receipt.
Where do I find it?
Voorraad → Merken (Stock → Brands). You can also create one from the product form, using the + next to the Merk (brand) field.
The form
Two fields.
| Field | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Merk (brand) | yes | |
| Logo | no | png, jpeg or webp, up to 4 MB, with a cropping tool (free, 1:1, 16:9 or 4:3) |
No svg. The cropping tool works on pixels, and a vector put through a pixel editor comes out worse.
Below the upload field you see where the current logo came from. If there is no logo yet:
Nog geen logo. Haal het van de officiële site van het merk — een salon mag het logo van zijn leveranciers tonen, een logoverzamelsite geeft die grondslag niet.
(No logo yet. Take it from the brand's official site — a salon may show the logo of its suppliers, a logo collection site does not provide those grounds.)
What happens when you upload a logo yourself
Two things are updated automatically, and that is on purpose:
-
The thumbnail. The list shows a scaled-down version; if that stays at the old value, the logo has been replaced but you cannot see it.
-
The origin. The grounds "fetched from the official brand site on that date" no longer hold for a file you uploaded yourself. It is therefore overwritten to:
Handmatig aangeleverd via het merkscherm; herkomst niet automatisch vastgesteld. (Supplied manually through the brand screen; origin not established automatically.)
If you delete the logo, the whole origin is cleared as well.
The list
Logo, Merk (brand) and Producten (products — the count). There is also a Herkomst logo (logo origin) column, hidden by default, with the values Merksite (brand site), Verdeler (distributor) or Handmatig (manual).
If there is nothing yet: Nog geen merken — Merken groeperen de producten in de voorraadlijst en op de kassabon. (No brands yet — Brands group the products in the stock list and on the receipt.)
Frequently asked questions
Why isn't my logo stretched until the frame is full? It is fitted, not cropped. Logos range from square to four times as wide as they are tall; stretching turns a trademark into a caricature.
