Opening hours
Updated on 2026-10-02
Instellingen → Openingsuren (Settings → Opening hours).
— Whatever is closed here is not offered by the booking page — not even if someone is in the calendar.
Just say it
— Type what you want to change, the way you would say it to a colleague. You are shown what changes first; nothing happens until you confirm.
The box sits in the top bar, next to the question mark, with a microphone beside it for dictation. It only appears if your salon has the Assistent (Assistant) switched on — see The assistant.
Type, for example:
You do not get a confirmation but a table: per day, what it says now and what it becomes. Days that are not listed stay as they are — the assistant never fills in a day you did not mention. If it is right, press Bevestigen (Confirm). If it is not, close the window and phrase it differently; nothing has changed.
Three things the assistant deliberately does not do:
| Guess | If she is unsure — open in the afternoon is not a time — you get a question back instead of a proposal. |
| Act without you | Nothing changes before you press Bevestigen. |
| Work on stale hours | If a colleague changed the same hours in the meantime, the proposal is refused and you type again. A proposal expires after a quarter of an hour in any case. |
A one-off closure — leave, a public holiday — does not belong here but under Closing days. The assistant will not propose that either.
When you are open
— Switch a day off and the booking page skips it. That is more precise than leaving it open and hoping nobody books: a client who sees a gap on Monday books that gap.
Seven rows, one per day: Maandag (Monday) through Zondag (Sunday). Every day is a toggle. Switch it on and two fields appear:
| Field | Explanation |
|---|---|
| Van (from) | required as soon as the day is switched on |
| Tot (to) | must be later than Van |
A closed day keeps no hours. Otherwise hours would sit there that nobody sees any more and that would quietly apply again when that day is reopened.
The calendar on screen
— This is only the window you see in the calendar — it makes nothing bookable and nothing unbookable. Set it wide enough that an early appointment or a colour that ran over still fits.
| Field | Explanation |
|---|---|
— An appointment before this hour is in the database all right, but you scroll to it instead of seeing it straight away. |
| Agenda eindigt om (calendar ends at) | must be later than the previous one |
By default that window is set to 08:30 – 18:30.
The time grid of your salon
— If you work in quarter-hour blocks, set it to a quarter of an hour here. The time fields on this screen and on the work schedule then step in quarters instead of single minutes, and in the calendar a dragged appointment snaps to the quarter.
| Field | Explanation |
|---|---|
| Uren invullen (filling in hours) | every 5, 10, 20 or 30 minutes, or every quarter of an hour |
The default is 5 minutes.
This forbids nothing. A time that does not fall on the grid — 9.10 — can still be typed in; the grid only decides where the plus and minus buttons land and what the browser offers you. Without a grid it offers sixty minutes per hour, and you scroll through 59 values to be able to pick four.
Where the grid does not apply: the time clock and the deliveries. Those are measurements — what time someone actually clocked in, when the box actually arrived — and they belong to the minute.
The difference between the two sections
| Opening hours | Calendar window | |
|---|---|---|
| determines what your client can book | yes | no |
| determines what you see on your screen | no | yes |
| applies per weekday | yes | no, one window for all days |
Open exceptionally
Are you open on a day when you are normally closed — a Monday afternoon, the Sunday before Christmas — or longer than usual? Then do not put it in the fixed week above, but under Instellingen → Extra open (Settings → Extra opening): a date or a period (optionally only on one weekday, e.g. every Monday in November), with the hours.
- The booking page offers those days, within those hours and the roster of whoever is working.
- A closing day on the same day always wins: closed is closed.
- What is blocked in the calendar (a course, a meeting) stays blocked.
If you still work alongside Optios, the update round picks up such a day by itself: if, according to the rosters in Optios, someone works on a day the salon is closed, an extra opening is created from the first to the last hour of those rosters, labelled uit Optios (from Optios). If you change it here, the update round leaves it alone. If the exception disappears from Optios, it is not deleted here: you get a clean-up suggestion.
What else plays a part
The booking page looks not only at these hours, but also at each staff member's work schedule and at approved absences.
Closing for one day or one period — collective leave, a public holiday you do not work — does not belong here but under Closing days: those apply per date, these hours per weekday.
Saving
After saving: Bewaard — De boekingspagina houdt hier meteen rekening mee. — Saved — the booking page takes this into account straight away.
