Starting a trial yourself

Updated on 2026-08-23

You do not have to wait until somebody has half an hour to show you around. At hairconnect.be/en/try you register your salon yourself and work in it for thirty days. It is the same software a paying salon runs — nothing is switched off.

Would you rather speak to someone first? That is fine too: the number is on the contact page.

What you need

Five things, and no more:

What What for
VAT number We check it against VIES and take your company name from it
Name of your salon Appears on your booking page and on your receipts
Your own name Becomes your user, with the Zaakvoerder (owner) role
Email address What you log in with
Password At least twelve characters

Phone number and address are optional. You can fill them in later under Instellingen → Het salon (settings → the salon).

The VAT number

As soon as you type a VAT number that looks valid, we check it against VIES, the European Commission's VAT database. There are three outcomes, and the form tells you which one applies:

  • VIES confirms the number. Your company name is copied into the Name of your salon field. If your salon trades under a different name than your company — which it often does — do overwrite it.
  • VIES does not know the number. Check it. With the wrong number, every invoice you raise from HairConnect will be wrong too, and that is a tax document.
  • VIES could not be reached. That happens; their service goes down regularly. It does not hold you up — you can carry on and we will check the number later.

We do not fill in the VIES address for you

If VIES returns an address, we put it beside the address fields as a single line — as a reference, not as an entry. The Street, Postcode and Town fields stay empty.

That is deliberate. VIES returns that address as one piece of text, and its shape differs from company to company: with or without a box number, the postcode before or after the town, sometimes no postcode at all. Any attempt to cut that line into three automatically will sooner or later put a wrong address in your salon record — and that address then ends up on your till receipts. So copy across what is right yourself, and leave blank what you are not sure of. An empty address beats a wrong one.

After registering

You see straight away:

  • that your salon has been created, under the name you chose;
  • how long your trial runs;
  • the address of your booking page — it exists from that moment, and your clients can use it as soon as your services and opening hours are in.

You log in at /admin, with the email address and password from a moment ago. Then carry on with Setting up the salon: that order works, and without services and opening hours your booking page has nothing to offer yet.

What you should know

  • We do not ask for a card number or a bank account when you register.
  • Whatever you enter during those thirty days stays yours and remains exportable — even if you do not carry on.
  • If you want to continue after your trial, get in touch before it runs out.
  • Coming from another package? Do not start typing everything in by hand. Read From Optios to HairConnect first: an import enters your clients, services and colour formulas for you.

If something goes wrong

What you see What it means
A list of fields that need looking at The server refused something — usually an email address already in use, or a password that is too short. The message sits with the field itself.
"Too many sign-ups from this address" Too many attempts in a short time. Wait a moment, or ring us — then we will set your salon up.
The form does not react This page needs JavaScript; it is the only page on the site that does. If you have it switched off in your browser, ring or email us.
