Reading the agenda
Updated on 2026-08-22
You find the agenda at the top of the menu under Agenda. It shows one day, with a column per staff member. There is no week or month view: a hair salon plans per day and per chair.
The top bar
| Element | What it does |
|---|---|
| ‹ and › | one day back or forward |
| Vandaag (today) | jumps back to today |
| the date | opens a month calendar; today is marked, and a small copper dot means that day is already in this device's memory |
| Legende (legend) | opens the explanation of every sign and colour |
| Live / Niet live (not live) | whether colleagues' changes come in immediately |
| Online / Offline | whether this device has a connection, with the number of changes still waiting |
With the keyboard: ← and → for previous and next day, t for today, Esc to close a window.
Top left in the grid are − and + to zoom in and out.
The grid
On the left are the hours, a line every fifteen minutes and a heavier one on the full hour. Every column carries a coloured dot at the top, the staff member's name and the number of appointments in that column.
On today a copper line with a dot runs along: the current time. When you open it, the agenda scrolls to an hour before now.
The agenda's window — from what time to what time you look — is set under Instellingen → Openingsuren (settings → opening hours).
The strip above the day
If there is something special about that day, one line sits above the column headings.
| Strip | What it means |
|---|---|
| red, GESLOTEN (closed) with a name | the whole salon is closed. If the closure runs over several days, the period is shown with it: donderdag 30 juli t.e.m. zondag 2 augustus |
| yellow, FEESTDAG (public holiday) with a name | a Belgian legal public holiday — O.L.V.-Hemelvaart (Assumption), Paasmaandag (Easter Monday) … |
Mind the difference: a public holiday does not close the salon. It only puts a name above the day; the day stays bookable. If you really want to be closed that day, enter it as a closing day under Instellingen → Sluitingsdagen (settings → closing days). The public holidays are calculated, Easter and everything hanging off it included, so they are there again every year.
The blocks
An appointment consists of blocks, and there are two kinds.
Active block — a filled surface in the colour of the service, with a solid coloured bar on the left. You read the time, the client's name, a row of icons, that block's service, and if the block is tall enough also the latest colour formula and the first pinned remark (that last one in red).
Processing block — hatched, with a dotted bar on the left. It says the word INWERKEN (processing). The chair is taken, the staff member is free. Another client fits here.
If a block belongs to the same appointment as another one, you can see it: point at a block or open it, and all the blocks of that visit light up in copper, with a dotted line between them. Bottom right there is always the counter 2/3 — service 2 of 3 of this visit.
The icons on a block
| Icon | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Booked online | via the website or the customer portal |
| Confirmed by the client | the client answered the reminder |
| Client is present | checked in at the front desk |
| No-show | the block also gets its own colour |
| Locked block | does not move along when the appointment is moved |
| New client | first visit at this salon |
| Remark | note on the appointment or a pinned remark on the client |
The full list is behind the Legende button, with the colour per service category alongside.
Grey and hatched bands
- Outside that staff member's working hours the column is dimmed. If HairConnect knows no working hours for that person on that day, the whole column is dimmed — better than pretending someone is there.
- An absence appears as a hatched band with the reason written in it. You cannot click or drag on it; absences are managed under Salon → Afwezigheden (absences).
- An agenda block that is not a client (delivery, training, meeting) sits there as a grey block with its title. You do not drag that one either.
What the agenda does not do
- No week view. One day, columns per staff member.
- No search for free slots. That sits in the online booking and in the customer portal, not in the salon's agenda.
- No print button and no general search bar. You search inside the Nieuwe afspraak (new appointment) window, by client or by service.
- Changing the duration by dragging is not possible. A block has no handle to stretch it with.
Frequently asked questions
Why does a copper ring sometimes light up around an appointment? A colleague has just created or moved that visit. The ring fades after a few seconds. Your own changes do not light up.
It says "Het salon is gesloten op deze dag." (the salon is closed on this day) Nobody is rostered that day. If a closing day has been entered as well, its name is shown alongside — for instance Gesloten — Collectief verlof (closed — collective leave). You manage those under Instellingen → Sluitingsdagen (settings → closing days); the weekdays themselves under Instellingen → Openingsuren (settings → opening hours).
