The audit log
Updated on 2026-08-22
Instellingen → Logboek (Settings → Audit log). Only the zaakvoerder (owner) gets in here: this is where you see who did what with which money and who opened which client record.
What is in here
At the top of the screen it says so literally:
Alles wat geld, klantgegevens, rechten, uren of afspraken raakt, langs welk scherm het ook gebeurde: de backoffice, de agenda, de kassa of het klantenportaal. Een regel wordt nooit gewijzigd of verwijderd. — Everything that touches money, client data, permissions, hours or appointments, no matter which screen it happened through: the backoffice, the calendar, the till or the customer portal. A line is never changed or deleted.
— What is deliberately not in it: passwords, API keys and the contents of colour formulas. Of an integration you see that it was changed, not with which key. The receipts themselves are in the cash journal — this audit log says who closed them, not what was on them.

The lines read like sentences: Kris sloot bon 2026-0148 af — € 45,00 — Kris closed receipt 2026-0148 — € 45,00, Ada nam € 50,00 uit de kassa — bloemen — Ada took € 50,00 out of the till — flowers, Kris wijzigde prijs van Balayage van € 110,00 naar € 115,00 — Kris changed the price of Balayage from € 110,00 to € 115,00.
If no actor is known, it says Het systeem (the system) or Een onbekende gebruiker (an unknown user). Nothing is invented: an empty actor is a fact, not a reason to make up a name for it.
What is deliberately not in it
A hair salon is not a bank. If this audit log caught every single action, it would become a second database that nobody ever opens and that makes the real events impossible to find. This list is therefore a choice and not a safety net: what is not here is not logged.
Specifically missing are:
- creating a client record — that happens with every new client and says nothing;
- creating an appointment — that happens all day long, and the appointment itself is the proof;
- a password change;
- the contents of colour formulas;
- the values you enter in an integration.
There are no buttons
No editing, no deleting, no export. An audit log where you can press a button that changes or removes a line is not an audit log.
Changing is refused with: Het logboek is append-only: een regel wijzigt nooit. Wat er gebeurd is, corrigeer je met een nieuwe gebeurtenis, niet met een gum. — The audit log is append-only: a line never changes. What happened is corrected with a new event, not with an eraser.
How long it is kept
| Kind | Retention period |
|---|---|
| Geld (money), Rechten en toegang (permissions and access), Uren (hours), Privacy (privacy) | about seven years |
| Klanten (clients), Afspraken (appointments) | two years |
A line that disappears before the thing it explains is useless. Hours belong to the long term: there is pay attached to them, and a discussion about pay rarely comes up in the same month.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I see what was on a receipt? In Rapporten → Transacties (Reports → Transactions). The audit log says who closed the receipt, not what was on it.
