The first time: the intake
Updated on 2026-10-18
You get one email with one button. Behind it you choose a password, put PaidOnce on your home screen, link your banks and scan your first receipt. Four screens, one button each.
The email
HairConnect sends you an email Welcome to PaidOnce with the button Get started with PaidOnce. One tap and you are signed in: you do not need to know a password to get in. The link works for seven days. After that, ask HairConnect for a new one, or sign in with the password you chose.
Open the link on the phone you want to use PaidOnce on.
Step 1 — Choose a password
One field. On an iPhone, Safari suggests a strong password: tap it and it is filled in and saved in your keychain. You do not need to remember it; the PaidOnce app fills it in itself later. If you type one yourself: at least twelve characters.
You do not see this step if you have signed in with a password before.
Step 2 — On your home screen
On an iPhone or iPad a page cannot do this itself: tap Share at the bottom of Safari (the square with the arrow pointing up), choose Add to Home Screen and tap Add at the top right. On Android, or on a computer with Chrome or Edge, there is an Install button. Then tap Done or Later: this step never holds you back.
Step 3 — Link your banks
You see one card per business you own, and a Private card if you have a private PaidOnce. Each card shows the accounts already linked, and one button Link bank. Your bank is preselected if you linked it somewhere already.
The button takes you to your bank. There you sign in as usual, mostly with itsme, and give permission to read the account. HairConnect does not see your sign-in and cannot pay anything. One permission gives all accounts you may see at that bank, for at most 180 days.
Back in the intake, every account is placed right away with the business it certainly belongs to: the account with your business's account number with your business, and from your private PaidOnce every account that belongs nowhere else. If the bank passed on an account that may belong to another business, the screen asks one choice per account — Belongs to … or Do not read — with a suggestion and the reason. An account carrying another salon's account number never ends up with you.
Link another bank adds a second bank. Done with banks continues, and so does Later, continue without a bank. PayPal and credit cards are not part of this intake; you link those later under Bank account.
Step 4 — Reading
Reading starts by itself as soon as you return from the bank: the last 90 days of transactions, in the background. The screen shows the progress per account and refreshes itself. No need to wait: Scan your first receipt takes you to Scan an invoice and closes the intake. From then on PaidOnce reads every morning; see Bank transfers.
Opening the link again
Closed the screen halfway? Open the link again: you land on the first step that is not finished yet. If you already chose a password, you sign in with it and the intake continues afterwards. If the intake is finished, the link simply opens PaidOnce.
HairConnect creates an intake link for you; a new link closes the previous one. If the button in the email does not work, copy the address below the button into your browser.
