Services per staff member

Updated on 2026-09-16

Not everyone does everything, and not everyone does it equally fast. You set that out per staff member.

Without this list a staff member can do nothing online. Anyone with no service here is offered on your booking page for no service at all. If you fill it in for nobody, nothing can be booked online — you then read that on your home screen and on Instellingen → Online boeken (settings → online booking). At the counter and in the calendar nothing changes: there you schedule and charge with whoever you like.

Where do I find this?

Team → Medewerkers (staff), open the person, tab Wat ze kan (what she can do).

Welke diensten deze medewerker doet, en hoe lang die bij hem of haar duren. Laat de duur leeg om de standaardduur van de dienst te gebruiken — een junior doet er vaak langer over.

Which services this staff member performs, and how long those take with him or her. Leave the duration empty to use the service's standard duration — a junior often takes longer.

Adding a service

Click Dienst toevoegen (add service). Per row:

Field Required Notes
Dienst (service) yes active services only; each service can appear in the list only once
Duur (duration) no in minutes, minimum 5, in steps of 5; placeholder standaard (standard)
Actief (active) no on by default

Which duration wins

The duration on the staff member wins over the service's standard duration. If you leave the field empty, the service applies.

You notice this when scheduling: the Nieuwe afspraak (new appointment) window shows the service's standard duration — hence the ± sign next to the estimate — but the blocks HairConnect builds use this staff member's duration.

What you do not set here

The processing time can also differ per staff member in the database, but this form has no field for it. If you want to change a service's processing time, you do that on the service itself: Diensten & prijzen → Diensten, section Tijd (time).

What it means online and at the desk

Online a client only sees the staff who have the chosen service on their record — and a service that none of your online-visible staff does is not even on the booking page. The overview tells you then: Eén dienst is online niet boekbaar (one service is not bookable online), with its name.

At the desk the same list is a question, not a ban: if you plan a service with someone who does not do it, the calendar says Nova heeft niet de nodige kennis voor nl men and you choose Toch inplannen yourself (see Agenda → Planning an appointment). The register asks nothing: ringing up is always allowed.

Where this list comes from when you move over from Optios

During a migration HairConnect fills this list in for you. The source is your staff member's Kennis (knowledge) page at Optios: every service ticked there becomes a row here. Until 16 September 2026 that did not happen — the list stayed empty for everyone, and online a client could book a men's cut with someone who does not do them.

The personalised duration from Optios is only carried over when it differs from the standard time. If Optios shows the same number as the service itself, the duration stays empty here — it means exactly the same thing and it keeps the list readable.

Nothing is guessed:

  • A service ticked at Optios that does not exist here under that name is not linked. It appears under Opkuisvoorstellen (clean-up suggestions) as Kennis: dienst niet gevonden (knowledge: service not found), so you decide which service was meant.
  • If a row contained something we could not read, the list says so too: Kennis: regel op de Optios-pagina niet gelezen (knowledge: row on the Optios page not read). Nothing is skipped silently.

Whatever you adjust here afterwards stays: a second migration round does not overwrite your own changes.

Frequently asked questions

What if a staff member does not perform a service at all? Do not add it, or switch off the Actief checkbox on that row. Online they then disappear from the list straight away: a client booking a colour is not offered a stylist who does not do colours. For a package one of its services is enough — with coupe en kleuring one person cuts and another colours, and the salon divides the work itself.

And if I have not filled in services for anyone? Then nothing can be booked online. That has been the case since 16 September 2026 and it is a deliberate choice: an empty list means this person does nothing online, not not filled in yet. Before that date it was the other way round, and because no services were filled in at Diargo, every client was offered every staff member — until a man's cut was booked with someone who does not do them.

You notice it straight away: as long as nobody has any services ticked, a message sits at the top of your home screen and on Instellingen → Online boeken (settings → online booking), with the route to fix it. Your client does not get stuck in the meantime: on the booking page they are offered the waiting list and the call-back request. One filled-in record is enough to start receiving bookings again.

Does the adjusted duration also count towards the utilisation rate? Yes. Utilisation is calculated from the blocks as they stand in the calendar, and those are built with the effective duration.
