How stock moves
Updated on 2026-08-22
You do not type over a product's stock level. It moves through bookings, so that every difference can be traced.
The reasons
Every stock movement carries a reason:
| Reason | When |
|---|---|
| Verkoop (sale) | a product on a closed receipt |
| Levering (delivery) | an incoming delivery |
| Verbruik (backbar) (consumption — backbar) | what is used up at the basin or in the colour bar |
| Correctie (correction) | a rectification |
| Retour (return) | a reversal or a take-back |
| Import | the opening level from the Optios migration |
What the till does
On closing a receipt — not when the line is rung up, because an open receipt is not yet a sale — every product sold leaves the stock, with the note Verkocht op bon 2026-0148 (Sold on receipt 2026-0148).
On a reversal the quantity comes back, with the note Tegenboeking van bon 2026-0148 (Reversal of receipt 2026-0148).
Below zero is allowed
Stock may go negative. A salon that forgot to book in a delivery must still be able to sell. The negative number is then the signal, and the list puts it in red.
Filter on Negatieve voorraad (negative stock) to see what went wrong.
To be reordered
If you fill in a Minimumvoorraad (minimum stock) on a product, it shows up once it drops below that limit:
- on the overview screen, as the Onder minimumvoorraad (below minimum stock) tile;
- in the product list, with the Onder minimumvoorraad filter.
The badge in the Voorraad (stock) column then turns orange.
Backbar and the consumption report
Products with Backbar switched on are not sold but consumed. They count towards consumption and not towards revenue.
The Rapporten → Verbruik (Reports → Consumption) report shows what was used up, per product and per staff member, valued at purchase price. That is cost, not revenue: the sale price would present the cost three times too high.
Products without a purchase price do count in the quantity and not in the value; the column then shows a dash, so that it stays visible that a price is missing.
What is not there
There is no screen showing the stock movements themselves. What you see is the level on the product, and the consumption report. There is also no management screen for product categories.
Frequently asked questions
How do I put a wrong opening level right? Huidige voorraad (current stock) can only be filled in at the moment you create the product. If it already exists, correcting a level is not an action this screen offers — get in touch with your administrator.
