Is Optios still keeping up?

Updated on 2026-10-01

Instellingen → Loopt Optios nog mee? (Settings → Is Optios still keeping up?) This screen only exists while you are running alongside Optios. If it carries an exclamation mark in the menu, it has been quiet for too long.

Why this screen exists

A synchronisation that stops, stops silently. There is no error message: your diary simply stays as it was, and it looks exactly like a diary that is correct.

What happens then is not theoretical. When we put both diaries side by side on 14 September, six appointments differed on a single Saturday: four that were in Optios and not here, one that sat here on the Saturday while it had been moved to the following week in Optios, and one that was still here while it had been deleted there.

What you see here

When it was last updated, and whether that is recent enough. If it is longer ago than expected, an orange message appears with a link to run a round right away.

What counts as "too long" depends on your setup:

You update by hand after 20 hours
A computer is coupled after 3 hours

That difference exists because a coupled computer runs roughly every half hour. Three hours of silence then means something is stuck — the computer is off, your Optios sign-in has expired, or the extension is disabled.

The clock keeps running on a closing day too. That seems strict, but that is exactly when it matters most: your online booking page is still attached to Optios and stays open day and night. A customer booking on Sunday evening for next week lands in Optios while your salon is closed. After two closed days, people have been booking for two days with nobody looking.

Which computers are keeping it up to date, and when they last reported in. If it says stil (quiet), that computer is doing nothing any more: check whether it is switched on and whether you are still signed in to Optios there.

What the last rounds brought — how many appointments were new, changed, or cancelled because they had gone from Optios.

What this screen is not

It does not say that your diary is identical to the one in Optios right now. That can only be known by asking Optios, and that is exactly what a round does. What you see here is how long ago that last happened — and therefore how likely it is that something slipped through.

In doubt? Run a round. It takes minutes and it is never wrong: everything is recognised by the number it had at Optios, so running twice never gives duplicates.

Cleaning up while Optios is still running

The clean-up after the switch does not have to wait until you stop using Optios. A customer or product you archive here stays archived when a later round brings it in again, and the clean-up sends nothing to Optios.
