Switching
Switching from Treatwell to HairConnect
This switch does not start with an export but with a calculation. If a large share of your new clients arrives through the marketplace, leaving costs you something no software gives back.
What we know about this one
Which kind of data comes across in full, what ends up in an archive and how the cutover runs are described once — the same for every package: the general switching policy.
- Under their own terms the agreement can be ended by either party with 30 days' notice, and no minimum term is stated. That makes leaving Treatwell administratively simpler than an annual contract.
- The calendar, client records and till sales live in Treatwell Pro. What you can export yourself and in what format is not on their public pages — you have to ask them, and it is the first question to ask.
- Your salon page on treatwell.be is theirs, not yours. It does not move with you, and neither do the reviews on it.
What we do not know
This gets the same billing as the rest. A switching plan that lists only the certainties is not a plan but a sales pitch.
- What export options Treatwell Pro offers. We have never seen one. Anything we wrote about it would be invented.
- Whether appointments booked through the marketplace carry the same data in an export as those you entered yourself.
- What happens to outstanding prepayments at the moment you stop.
Your part
What you arrange yourself
- First work out what share of your revenue comes from new clients via Treatwell. That figure decides whether this switch is a good idea at all.
- Ask Treatwell in writing for your data in a machine-readable format. Article 20 of the GDPR gives you that right, marketplace or not.
- Check exactly when your 30 days' notice starts, and only give notice once your new calendar is running.
- Think about your visibility after Treatwell: your Google profile, your own site, the people who already know you. We can give you software, not reach.
- Do I take my reviews with me?
- No. Reviews on treatwell.be live on their platform and stay there. That is a real loss and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
- Will my clients keep booking once I leave the marketplace?
- Your regulars will, if you tell them in time where to book from now on. For people who have never seen you it is different — that is exactly what the marketplace was for.
- Can I do both?
- That is a question for Treatwell, not for us. We do not stand in the way of a second calendar next to ours, but whether that is allowed and works on their side, we do not know.
