Switching from SalonSolution to HairConnect

We have not done this switch either. What follows is therefore not experience but a plan with honest gaps in it.

What we know about this one

Which kind of data comes across in full, what ends up in an archive and how the cutover runs are described once — the same for every package: the general switching policy.

  • Their subscriptions are shown on the pricing page on annual billing. If you pay yearly, in practice you switch at the end of a period.
  • On the cheapest plan they offer a migration service at € 49.99. That says something about their side of a switch — exactly what it covers is not stated.
  • Your SalonFinder profile hangs on your subscription. If the subscription stops, there is no reason to assume the profile stays.
  • Whatever your agreement says: article 20 of the GDPR gives you the right to your own data in a common, machine-readable format.

What we do not know

This gets the same billing as the rest. A switching plan that lists only the certainties is not a plan but a sales pitch.

  • Whether SalonSolution offers an export, and what is in it. Their public pages say nothing about it.
  • How detailed their client record is, and whether colour formulas are kept in it. That decides what we can take over.
  • What happens to reviews or visibility you have built up on SalonFinder.
Your part

What you arrange yourself

  • Ask in writing for a complete export, invoking article 20 of the GDPR, and ask explicitly whether your client history is in it.
  • Check when your annual subscription ends and whether it renews tacitly. Prefer to switch at that hinge.
  • Think about your visibility without SalonFinder: your Google profile, your own site and your existing clients.
  • Let your old booking link fade out and tell your regulars where to book from now on.
Do I lose my SalonFinder profile?
Assume so. That profile belongs to their subscription, not to you. If visibility through it brings you part of your clientele, weigh that in.
Can you read my data?
As soon as we see an export we can tell you what comes across. Before that, any answer would be a guess.
How long does it take?
Four to eight weeks, most of it waiting for your export. If anyone promises you "next week", they have not seen your file.
