HairConnect vs Aimy

Aimy publishes everything: the subscriptions, the add-ons, even the transaction fees. That deserves a compliment — and it makes possible what most packages do not allow: working out what a salon actually pays per month. So that is what this page does.

Aimy is Dutch salon software. Their support is, in their own words, reachable five days a week between 9.00 and 17.00 via WhatsApp, email and phone, with a Dutch and a French number. Their own GDPR FAQ says the data sits on servers "based in the Netherlands".

Their rates are simply on their pricing page: € 21.50 per month for one to two staff members, € 51.50 for three to five and € 71.50 above five, each excluding VAT. Paying yearly earns a 5% discount. Trying is free for thirty days, and the subscription is cancellable monthly.

Next to that sits a row of add-ons with prices of their own: WhatsApp messages at € 0.13 and SMS at € 0.10 apiece, Voice AI at € 99 per month, Chat AI at € 99 per month (announced as coming soon), a Marketing Manager at € 9.95 per month, an Exact accounting link at € 4.50 per month (also coming soon), payments from 1% per transaction and a free Google Reserve link.

Their feature list is long: calendar, online bookings with your own booking link, waiting list, "crossboeken" (cross-booking), chair rental, till, gift vouchers, memberships, stock, reviews, loyalty, time registration, the Dutch collective agreement (CAO), roles and permissions — and more. Getting in happens through a switching service run by their own team, which according to their site takes over appointments, invoices, services, colour cards and products.

What is in the middle column comes from their own site or from our own measurements; the sources are at the bottom of this page.

Where they are stronger

  • They publish everything, down to the price of a WhatsApp message. Anyone can work out their own monthly amount in advance — that is rare, and worth imitating.
  • Thirty days free and monthly cancellation. A lower entry threshold hardly exists.
  • There is a lot on their list that we do not have: Voice AI, a Marketing Manager, a free Google Reserve link, and for teams in the Netherlands time registration with the Dutch collective agreement attached.
  • Getting in with them is guided: their own team takes over, according to their site, appointments, invoices, services, colour cards and products from your old system.
  • Support via WhatsApp, email and phone, five days a week — with a French number next to the Dutch one.

Where we do it differently

  • One amount that is the whole story: € 59 per salon, everything included, and no add-ons that grow the monthly bill piece by piece. The € 35 solo rate is deliberately all-in too.
  • No cost per message. Confirmations and reminders go by email and sit in the subscription; a busy salon does not pay more for them than a quiet one.
  • An appointment is a series of blocks with a separate processing time. During a colour the chair is occupied and you are free — and the calendar can actually schedule that.
  • The colour formula is structured data and not just a note: searchable, deductible from the backbar, showable to the client in her portal.
  • The calendar keeps working when the network drops for a moment, and there is an app for iPhone and iPad that opens with Face ID.
  • The cash journal is append-only from the very first receipt, with a hash chain and gapless numbering, and the booking page, client emails and manual exist in four languages: Dutch, French, English and Bulgarian.
What does Aimy really cost per month?
The subscription is the starting amount: € 21.50, € 51.50 or € 71.50 excluding VAT, depending on your team. What you actually pay depends on the add-ons you switch on. A salon with three to five staff that reminds its 400 monthly appointments via WhatsApp arrives at € 51.50 + 400 × € 0.13 = € 103.50 per month. All figures come from their own pricing page of 27 August 2026 — feel free to redo the sum with your own numbers.
Is Aimy cheaper than HairConnect?
That depends on what you use. The bare subscription is lower with them; whoever sends messages or switches on add-ons adds those on top. With us the amount is the amount: € 59 per salon, or € 35 for whoever works alone — both all-in. So do not compare subscriptions but monthly amounts, with the options you actually use.
Why the example of 400 appointments?
Because putting bare rates side by side says nothing as long as one amount contains everything and the other does not. Aimy publishes its add-on prices neatly, so the real monthly amount can be calculated — and 400 appointments a month is an ordinary salon with a few chairs. Take your own number and their own price list, and you have your comparison.
Does Aimy have colour formulas?
Their switching service names colour cards among the data taken over at entry, so the package knows them. How they are built and what you can do with them, we have never seen; ask them. What we do with them is in the table above.
